A tragic incident unfolded at a private hospital in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, on Thursday when a fire broke out in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), claiming three lives and leaving several patients injured. The Muzaffarpur District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen shared that emergency services rushed to the scene upon receiving reports of the blaze, quickly containing it.

A total of 15 patients were admitted at the facility, with records for 13 of them obtained by the authorities. According to DM Sen, some patients in the CCU (Coronary Care Unit) were also being treated and have been shifted and admitted to nearby hospitals. The deceased's family members have already provided statements.
Subrat Kumar Sen emphasized that while initial reports indicated three fatalities, there is a possibility of more deaths as rescue and assessment operations continue. "As of now, we've seen the bodies, and the Civil Surgeon has confirmed these fatalities," added Sen. Our primary focus now is to conduct a thorough investigation into how this unfortunate incident occurred."
