Official reports indicate that the local administration has prioritized both socio-economic welfare and physical infrastructure to ensure sustainable growth in the area.
Speaking during recent celebrations in the region, Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy highlighted the administration's commitment to fulfilling electoral promises. He noted that the state government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has been diligent in executing its development agenda. According to the minister, a total of ₹6,545.70 crore has been allocated and spent in Atmakur over the last two years, demonstrating a balanced focus between public welfare programs and long-term development projects.
Driving Development and Welfare Spending in Atmakur
The financial breakdown for the constituency shows ₹3,461.17 crore dedicated to various welfare schemes, while ₹3,084.53 crore was channeled into essential development works. Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy emphasized that the government has taken proactive steps to secure the rights of local farmers, including the repeal of the previous administration's Land Titling Act and the introduction of updated, secure pattadar passbooks.
Furthermore, critical social welfare initiatives such as Annadata Sukhibhava, PM Kisan, enhanced pension programs, free bus travel for women, Deepam-2, and Talliki Vandanam are currently reaching thousands of families, providing direct financial relief and support to the residents of Atmakur.
Strategic Infrastructure and Industrial Growth
Beyond welfare, the regional administration is aggressively pursuing major irrigation projects. Ongoing efforts include the completion of the Somasila High Level Canal up to Marripadu, alongside sustained progress on the Somasila Reservoir, Sangam Barrage, ASR High Level Canal, Kavali Canal, and the Kanigiri Reservoir. These projects are expected to significantly boost regional agricultural productivity.
On the industrial front, the constituency is attracting fresh investments. A Chhattisgarh-based firm is set to establish an industrial facility on 300 acres in Marripadu with an investment totaling ₹500 crore. To further catalyze economic diversification and provide employment opportunities for the local youth, the government is also facilitating the development of a new MSME Park and an Auto Nagar. Additionally, the minister highlighted the renovation of over 800 ancient temples across the state, aimed at promoting spiritual tourism and preserving cultural heritage.
