AP Government Orders Formal Probe into Fatal Industrial Accident at Pharma City

The state administration has officially commissioned a comprehensive inquiry into the fatal industrial accident that occurred at Dakshin Energy within Pharma City, located in Parawada, Anakapalle district. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, tragically resulted in the loss of two lives, prompting immediate intervention from the highest levels of the state government.

Prioritizing Industrial Safety Standards

In response to the tragedy, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, alongside key cabinet ministers, has issued a firm directive emphasizing that industrial safety protocols must be followed without exception. The leadership has underscored that any future lapses in safety compliance will face stringent administrative and legal repercussions. The government is committed to ensuring that such hazardous incidents are not repeated in the industrial zones of the state.

During a review of the situation, the Chief Minister instructed local authorities to provide all possible assistance to the affected families. He specifically sought a detailed report on the exact circumstances and procedural lapses that led to the fire. Emergency services, including firefighting crews from the Pharma City Fire Station and the nearby Parawada unit, were praised for their rapid mobilization, which prevented further escalation of the blaze.

Support and Medical Care for Victims

Addressing the aftermath of the industrial accident, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that the injured receive the highest quality of medical care available. Beyond immediate relief, there is a clear mandate to provide continuous support to the grieving families. Ministers Vangalapudi Anitha and Vasamsetti Subash have extended their official condolences, with Vangalapudi Anitha personally coordinating with the Anakapalle District Collector and the Superintendent of Police to oversee the situation on the ground.

Meanwhile, political organizations, including the CPI(M), have stepped forward to demand substantial compensation for the families of the two deceased workers. The party’s state secretary, V Srinivasa Rao, has publicly urged the administration to expedite the provision of financial support and ensure that the injured receive comprehensive long-term care. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the root cause of the fire and assess whether proper safety management systems were operational at the time of the catastrophe.
