Residents across Andhra Pradesh should prepare for sustained wet weather as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Amaravati has issued a forecast predicting isolated heavy rainfall will persist across several regions until July 4. This prolonged spell of adverse weather is attributed to significant atmospheric changes affecting the state.
Meteorological experts report that an upper air cyclonic circulation is currently positioned over north Telangana and the surrounding areas. This system is active between 5.8 and 7.6 km above mean sea level. Simultaneously, a trough is stretching from the northern sections of coastal Andhra Pradesh toward Madhya Maharashtra, crossing through Chhattisgarh and Marathwada. A second trough has been identified extending from north interior Karnataka to the Comorin area, passing over Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Similarly, parts of the Rayalaseema region are expected to experience light showers. The intensity is projected to continue through Tuesday, with specific districts including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, the Polavaram region, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, and the NTR district likely receiving light to moderate downpours.

The state has already witnessed significant precipitation over the last 24 hours. According to state authorities, Mangalagiri in the Guntur district recorded the highest volume of rainfall at 68.2mm. Other notable rainfall figures include Rajam in Vizianagaram district with 52.5mm, Kakumanu in Guntur district at 51.5mm, Tadepalli reporting 45.2mm, Kavuluru in the NTR district reaching 41.5mm, and Bhattiprolu in the Bapatla district recording 39.9mm. While these areas saw higher totals, other districts across the state reported varying degrees of light rainfall.
