On the morning of May 27, a Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft operated by Air India faced a technical issue on its flight from Delhi bound for San Francisco. The plane, carrying around 230 passengers, was airborne for more than eight hours when it initiated a return to New Delhi after spending over three hours in Chinese airspace.
In a statement, the airline said that all passengers onboard would be provided with alternative transportation plans as soon as possible to reach their respective destinations. Meanwhile, ground crews offered refreshments and hotel accommodations for those who chose this option or needed additional support.
