The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has officially launched construction on Dar al Funoon Abu Dhabi, a landmark project set to redefine the region’s cultural landscape. The facility is designed for extensive usage, promising a full calendar of events and performances throughout the year. The architectural design, envisioned by the renowned late architect Frank Gehry—who also designed the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi—features a distinct, fabric-like exterior that symbolizes the fluidity of music and performance. The venue boasts impressive technical capabilities, including a multipurpose hall with over 2,000 seats, a 3,500-seat open-air amphitheatre, a 400-seat studio theatre, and a 250-seat jazz club.
