Aadhaar has made significant strides in making services more accessible. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and MapmyIndia have partnered to integrate a valuable feature into the popular Mappls app, enhancing the search process for Aadhaar centers across the country.

Locate Aadhaar Services Near You

This innovative addition allows users to easily find their nearest Aadhaar centers based on verified locations. Simply download or open the Mappls app on your smartphone, enable location services, and enter 'Aadhaar center' in the search bar. The application will instantly display a map with all nearby authorized centers. Each center's information, including the services it offers, will be readily accessible.

For instance, applying for a new Aadhaar card or updating personal details like address or mobile number becomes much simpler when you can easily locate an appropriate center. This feature serves as a valuable tool to save time and avoid multiple visits to different places. Moreover, the app ensures users find only verified locations, safeguarding them from potential fraudulent centers.

As part of continuous improvements, UIDAI has also amended some rules regarding Aadhaar enrollment and correction procedures. These changes are documented under the Third Amendment Regulations, 2025. For individuals who have already applied for or those planning to update their Aadhaar cards, these updated documents will serve as a key reference.

Documents Required for Name Changes

Aadhaar name correction now accepts several reliable identification documents such as the passport (with photo, name, date of birth, and address), voter ID (EPIC), PAN card, driver's license, government-issued identification cards, and marriage certificates. UIDAI emphasizes the reliability of these documents for updates.

Note: The amendments cover all age groups, ensuring that children, youth, and senior citizens benefit equally from the updated procedures.
