Adilabad, the region where farmers continue to face significant challenges, saw ex-minister T. Harish Rao express deep concerns during a recent party meeting in Peddapalli. He alleged that despite ongoing efforts, 30% of paddy produce has yet to be procured by the state government, leaving much of it unaccounted for at procurement centers.

Challenges Facing Farmers

Furthermore, Rao highlighted a series of issues facing farmers in his critique. He criticized the proposed 'Farmers DISCOM,' arguing that this initiative would exacerbate financial burdens on already distressed farming communities. Rao pointed out that farmers have faced difficulties due to irregular power supplies and non-payment of the subsidized Rythu Bharosa scheme, which has not received sanction for the past four months.

He emphasized the need for intensified protests and called upon party members and leaders to remain engaged with the public, urging MLAs and former legislators to stay connected with their constituents. Rao stressed the recognition of committed leadership within the party as a way forward in addressing grievances.

Veteran lawmakers including Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Huzurabad MLA Kaushik Reddy, former MLA Manohar Reddy, and ex-minister Koppula Eshwar attended this meeting to ensure the voice of the farmers was heard loud and clear.
