2026 FASTag Annual Pass Price Hikes: Key Revelations

Highlights

  • FASTag Annual Pass prices set for an increased effective April 1, 2026
  • Private non-commercial vehicles like cars, vans, and jeeps will benefit from this cost adjustment
  • Commercial vehicles including taxis, buses, trucks, etc., are exempted from the new toll rates system.
  • This change aims to streamline toll payment systems for efficient travel on national highways.

The central government and NHAI are set to increase the price of FASTag Annual Pass from April 1, 2026. This announcement is a significant development for frequent travel on national highways.

With the current annual pass costing ₹3,000, the new rates will rise to ₹3,075 beginning April 1, with a hike of ₹75 imposed by the Ministry of Road Transport.

The NHAI has reserved this facility exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as personal cars, vans, and jeeps. Commercial vehicles like taxis, small commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses are required to pay tolls in accordance with old rules, either per trip or on a monthly pass.

This 2026 update underlines the need for faster toll collection systems, enabling unrestricted travel without frequent wallet recharges, reducing unnecessary costs on behalf of commuters.
